Kroger, Smyrna
Smyrna’s new Kroger in The Crossings shopping center boasts two new pylon signs manufactured and installed by Commercial Signs. Each sign measures 25ft high by 18ft wide and is 4ft deep. Both pylons consist of a custom manufactured, architectural top sitting on brick columns that include painted aluminum, decorative trim. The header cabinets are non-illuminated but include a 5ft by 7ft, face-lit, channel letter, Kroger logo, a 20” by 9ft illuminated cabinet, and a digital gas price changer. The illuminated tenant cabinets include reverse pan signs with routed faces that will be backed with acrylic to reveal tenant names. Each sign sits on a stone base and the main entrance sign also includes a reverse or halo-lit channel letter set. This rush project took about 8 weeks to manufacture and was installed in time for the grand opening.
Chick-Fil-A, Atlanta
Chikin anyone? Commercial Signs teams with Boardworks to provide Chick-fil-A with Atlanta’s most unique billboard sign. Reminiscent of traditional sign making skills, crews actually paint the graphics directly on the side of an old water tower using exterior, oil-based paint. The sign is located on the 75/85 Connector just south of downtown. Be sure to check it out next time you are driving through Atlanta.
Flip Burger, Alanta
Top Chef Richard Blais gets all the praise for creating a fantastic burger inside but the full experience includes the initial welcome you get outside. This striking building design includes a custom illuminated, aluminum cabinet that appears to be part of the building itself. The routed faces are backed with acrylic and are illuminated with low-voltage LED lighting. You’ll want to stop by Flip Burger not only for a great burger but to check out a great sign.
